Someone told me this "if you won't do something, nothing will happen". It became a habit of mine that if I get to a situation where I'm afraid to get out of my comfort zone, I always tell myself this, that I won't make any progress if I won't do anything. I really love how simple words can change a person's life and these words got me to where I am today.

I heard it before. Its "nankurunaisa"

Not really sure if spelled it right.
But it means "Live by today but look forward to tomorrow. "

One of my favorite takes on this is "Memento Mori" - Remember you will die.

Once I had a therapist tell me "Relax and enjoy the moment. If you keep waiting for the other boot to drop you'll never enjoy anything". Might not be the most poignant thing in the world but it stuck with me.

That's really pleasant! Our high school principal mostly just yelled and sighed a lot

It was actually from a friend I was venting to a while ago when I was feeling like I was far behind in life compared to my age mates :'(

Well that advice really motivated me to keep focused and I'm happy now with all the progress made so far

If you are feeling stuck in your life, or if you are unhappy with the choices you have made, remember that it is never too late to start over. You can change your career, your relationships, your location, or anything else that is not making you happy.

Profanity warning. Maybe the best advice I ever got was "shove it up your ass". Not because anything actually belonged up there but because it helps me think twice about whether or not someone actually needs advice

my grandmother. She told me to "never stop learning." She said that the world is a constantly changing place, and that the only way to stay ahead is to keep learning new things.

Yea it can be for both actually. I can imagine one whispering to herself "This is me..." and other is proud saying "This is me!".
