Intro

Hi everyone! My name is Elise, some may also know me as msguineapigsrus online, and I love guinea pigs! I remotely volunteer for the largest guinea pig rescue in the US, and have two guinea pigs of my own. I'd love for this to be a place where people can share the love they have for their animals and also seek advice. We don't discriminate here, and love all small fuzzy creatures, so if you have other rodents or rabbits (or anything else that you think fits!), feel free to join in.

Important ground rule: These are our friends, anyone who is being nefarious and posting purposefully upsetting content (you know what I'm getting at) will be swiftly dealt with.

Sugar Gliders

We've had Sugar Gliders for many years - these precious little Marsupials are from Australia & absolutely adorable. It takes time & patience but they're trainable almost like having a tiny pup who will follow you around. They usually live around 15yrs in captivity & are hypoallergenic being non shedding & having no dander. I made little pouches with windows that we wore around our necks (definitely better to have them potty trained for this) resting just over our hearts as they love to feel & can recognize you by your heartbeat. I didn't know everyone's heartbeat was unique until I had Gliders.
