How do you deal with conflict in friendships? I am trying to find ways to make friendships last. You may comment on other ways you make friendships last.

Open communication, at least five positive experiences for each negative one, finding friends with shared interests, etc.
What kinds of conflicts are you dealing with?

Thanks for your response! I don't have any conflicts at the moment but I have had issues in the past and I want to make sure it does not happen again. Most of the time I believe its self sabotage (I ruin the friendship before it ruins me) or I have issues dealing with conflict. Or when I do have a conflict and face it they don't talk to me as much after. I'm not exactly sure what it is. But I think I will be getting better at it as I commit to friendships more.

There are a lot of little variables that go into all of this.
It might be good to take a look at your approach when you address conflicts. Use assertive speech, avoid thought distortions, use emotional regulation, and make sure you've chosen the right moment. Sometimes it's right away, other times it takes more thought. Sometimes it's best to just cut ties, haha. But it also helps to have some kind of idea as to what each person is hoping to get out of the friendship ahead of time so you don't fall into the "hey, why didn't you text me back?" kind of vibe.

When it comes to conflict in friendships, communication is key. I try to address any issues openly and honestly, focusing on finding a resolution that satisfies both parties. Trust, respect, and empathy are also crucial for maintaining lasting friendships. Additionally, showing appreciation, being reliable, and making time for each other help strengthen the bond over time.

Maybe try to make them involve in your life from time to time. and try to find somebody that is low-key doesn't need maintenance and respect your personal space.

Sharing positivity in both side and encouraging each other to be a better person will definitely help your friendship last.

Understanding and open communication are crucial. Learning to listen and respect that everyone has different beliefs is key, as is recognizing the importance of friendship. If a person is worth keeping in your life, it's important to try to resolve conflicts and find compromises.
