The Summer I Turned Pretty is a young adult romance book written by Renowned writer of the Best selling book ‘To all the boys I loved before’, Jenny Han. It is the first book of the trilogy. The book was about three teenagers namely Belly, Conrad, and Jeremiah.

This is more of a tear-jerker than a Romantic Comedy Novel.

The Construction of the Novel is just okay, easy to read and relatable. I like how the writer has built up the character throughout the novel, something that I like about story writing. Character Building is one of the toughest elements to introduce in a story because when you just sentence out all the information at one point it will just be too much for the reader to digest.

As for the Plotline, The book is a catch because of its plot cliche where there is only a ‘one-sided-love’ kind of trope. I guess the ugly duck turning into a beautiful swan really adds up to the excitement of reading the book, on the other hand, I just probably not into books that need justification of beautifying oneself just so boys will look at you.

Overall, The Summer I turned Pretty is Recommended if you love reading a book about friendship, romance, and family.
